How Tertiary Education Institutions Get Accredited in Ghana

ABOUT ACCREDITATION Accreditation is a self-assessment procedure that allows institutions to demonstrate that they are meeting a set of research-based performance requirements. The standards take a holistic approach to the institution, augmenting student-testing data to create a full picture of a school's performance and charting a purposeful and realistic path for continual growth. Accreditation helps tertiary institutions in the following ways. 1. Assists you and your colleagues in setting and achieving goals, developing a strategy plan, and promoting employee development, among other things. 2. Instils pride in employees' work and creates possibilities for professional growth. 3. Form parent, teacher, and administrative coalitions and brings together disparate groups to provide the greatest potential outcomes for your students. 4. Gives your Institution a leg up on parents who want their children to attend a high-achieving school.   Starting Accreditation Application Accr...

WHAT ARE  THE BASIC RULES OF CROCHETING?

Increasing – This is the process of increasing the number of stitches in the row or round.

Crocheting in Loops-Unless the pattern specifies otherwise, always crochet across both loops of a stitch.

The Front Loop - it is the one in front of you. A stitch does not include the loop on the hook. You may raise the hook size to achieve a bigger blouse size if you're following a design for a blouse or top (if multiples of stitches are not mentioned in the pattern). Check which crochet terminology is used in the design you're following.

The back loop is the one on the other side of the loop.

A Front or Back Post stitch is stitched around the “stem” of the stitch.

Turning Chains: These are used to make the stitch heights equal. The crochet piece will curl if you don't use them, and the edges will not be even. The chain will get longer as the stitches become bigger. As a result, sl=0 ch, sc=1 ch, hdc=2 ch, dc=3 ch, tr=4 ch, and so on. The turning chain does not count as a stitch for the sl, sc, or hdc, therefore start the row in the first stitch unless the directions say otherwise. The turning chain counts as a stitch for the double and triple crochet stitches, so you'll begin the row with the second stitch..

* Asterisks are used to indicate the start and end of an instruction that will be repeated several times. Sc, sk next sc, *dc in next 2 sc, ch 2, dc in next 2 sc, sc, ch 2, dc in next 2 sc, sc, rep from * 4 times, ch 1, turn The asterisk indicates that the "dc in next 2 sc, ch 2, dc in next 2 sc, sc" section should be repeated for the specified number of times (4) for that row. Sc, sk next sc, *dc in next 2 sc, ch 2, dc in next 2 sc, ** sc, rep from * to last 3 sc, end at **; sc in last 3 sc; turn should have been the instructions. then the instructions would have been repeated as usual until the task was completed... ensuring that the instructions beyond the double asterisks were followed.

Take, for example, Chapter 25.sc across in 2nd ch from hook: 24 sts. The "24 sts" refers to the number of single crochet stitches in a row when working a lot of stitches in the same area or stitching (3 hdc, ch 3, 3 hdc) in a corner space.

Parentheses () are used for clarity. Parentheses are sometimes used in the same way as asterisks are, especially in more intricate patterns with a lot of repeated repeats.
