DIFFERENCES BETWEEN CROCHETING, KNITTING, AND MACRAME
These three skills can be tricky sometimes because they all use the methods of stitching yarn together, just in
different styles but do not be confused. check the differences below.
Crocheting vs Knitting
The stitches in knitting make a "V" shape.
Crochet stitches are more akin to knots. Knitting creates loops by transferring
a group of loops from one needle to the next while the stitches are kept in
place on the needle. Crochet hooks the loops together directly on the material
with a single hook. Crochet is considerably easier to work with than knitting
because of this significant difference.
Crocheting vs Macrame
Crochet and macrame are two very distinct crafts. Macrame is
produced by tying ornamental knots with many strings without the use of any
equipment other than your fingertips. Crochet is done with a single thread and
a crochet hook, which is pulled through previously created loops. Both can
produce tightly worked or open, lacy motifs, but the working technique is very
different.
